1. Information Shown on the Site

The Site and App display publicly available information about GUJ members, office bearers, and union activities. This information is sourced from our own local records and includes:

• Member names, photos, designations, and media affiliations (newspaper or TV channel).
• Office bearer names, positions, and contact details.
• Photos from GUJ events, meetings, and activities (in the Gallery section).

This information is maintained by the GUJ administration and updated as the union records change. It is displayed for the purpose of public transparency, member verification, and union governance.

2. CNIC Verification Feature

The Site includes a CNIC lookup feature that lets visitors verify a person's GUJ membership status. When you submit a CNIC number in the verification form:

• The CNIC is used to look up matching records in our local database.
• The lookup happens in real time; no submitted CNIC is stored on our servers.
• We do not log, save, or share the CNICs that are searched.

Verification results show the same public information described in Section 1. The feature exists purely to confirm membership against our existing records.

3. What We Do Not Collect

GUJ does not collect personal information from Site or App visitors. Specifically:

• No user accounts: Visitors do not register, log in, or create profiles.
• No forms or submissions: Beyond the CNIC lookup described above, the Site has no contact forms, comment fields, or upload features.
• No first-party cookies: GUJ does not set cookies to track visitors or remember preferences.
• No first-party analytics: GUJ does not run its own visitor analytics or tracking scripts.
• No newsletter or marketing: GUJ does not collect email addresses or send marketing communications.

4. Third-Party Services

The Site uses a small number of third-party services that may collect information under their own privacy policies:

• Google AdSense: Pages may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show relevant ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites. You can manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings. See Google's advertising policies.
• Google Fonts and Font Awesome: The Site loads fonts and icons from Google's CDN. These requests may be logged by Google with your IP address.
• Swiper and jQuery (DataTables): The Site loads the Swiper slider and jQuery from public CDNs. These libraries do not collect personal information but the CDN providers may log request metadata.

These services are governed by their own privacy policies. GUJ is not responsible for their practices. You can limit third-party tracking by using browser privacy settings, ad blockers, or private browsing modes.

5. Standard Server Logs

Like virtually all websites, our hosting server automatically records basic technical information about each request — including IP address, browser type, requested URL, response status, and timestamp. This information is used only for:

• Diagnosing technical problems and preventing abuse.
• Generating anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics.
• Complying with applicable law.

Server logs are retained for a limited period and are not sold, traded, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Information of Members Shown Publicly

Member information displayed on this Site (name, photo, designation, media affiliation, and other union directory details) is shared with GUJ's permission and is shown as part of the union's public membership record. Members who wish to update, correct, or request removal of their information displayed on the Site should contact the GUJ administration using the details in the Contact section below.

7. Children's Privacy

The Site and App are intended for use by professional journalists and adults associated with the journalism profession. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and the Site does not target children. If you believe information about a minor has been published inappropriately, please contact us so we can address it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will indicate when the latest revisions took effect. Substantive changes will be reflected by updating that date.
